Within the walls, every 4 feet or so, are rebars that run from the foundation to the top sill plate. These rebars will tie the roof trusses to the walls. Before the trusses are installed, concrete will be poured down the cavities of the walls reinforcing the rebar. The carpenters are here today measuring for the installation of the trusses and roof.

Garage Build - Day 20
The walls are done!
Next up, county inspection of the completed walls. Because we are in hurricane country, the engineering that goes into this build is interesting. ReplyDeleteThose are crazy walls! New hurricane shelter? Will there be a different exterior over the blocks or will it be set up like that? Can't wait to see it in person!
ReplyDeleteThey told us that if we get a hurricane, to hold up in the garage...it would be safer!! the exterior walls will have a stucco finish like the house and painted the same color
